STACK’D Protein Pancakes contain organic whole grains, 100% organic whole wheat and whole grain oat flour. A growing body of research shows that eating whole grains and other less-processed sources of carbohydrates and cutting back on refined grains improves health in a myriad of ways. Whole and intact grains, including whole wheat and oats, and foods made with them, can have a milder effect on blood sugar and insulin than white flour and other refined grains found in most pancake mixes. Whole grains offer a “complete package” of health benefits unlike refined grains, which are stripped of valuable nutrients in the refining process. Whole grains contain bran and fiber, which slow the breakdown of starch into glucose – thus maintaining a steady blood sugar rather than causing sharp spikes.
